Looking for a healthier alternative to your favorite Appetizer? Try this delicious recipe for the popular Spinach Artichoke Dip dish!

Directions

Spray a medium pot with nonstick cooking spray. Add garlic and onions and cook over medium heat until they’re translucent, above five minutes.  Put thawed and drained frozen spinach in food processor and pulse a few times to chop. Add artichokes and pulse a few more times. The mixture should be chunky. Add spinach and artichokes to pot, along with cream cheese, oregano, red pepper and lemon juice.

Heat until bubbly, then add parmesan cheese, salt and pepper to taste.

Ingredients

  1. 1 package (10 ounces) frozen spinach
  2. 1 bag (14 ounces) frozen artichokes
  3. 2-8 ounce packages light cream cheese
  4. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  5. 1 small onion, minced
  6. 3 cloves garlic, minced
  7. 1/3 cup parmesan cheese
  8. ½  tsp red-pepper flakes
  9. ½ tsp oregano
  10. Salt, pepper to taste
  11. Nonstick cooking spray
  12. Optional garnishes: minced red bell pepper or chopped tomatoes
