Melissa WestfallThis girl almost didn’t graduate High School for flunking Gym class… now she’s at Healthy Fit working out 5-6 days/week!

Melissa Westfall, member of Healthy Fit since June 2012, started our Healthy Living Program 9 weeks ago and is now down 20-pounds!

That’s right ladies… T W E N T Y pounds!

Having already been a member for almost a year, Melissa decided to start seeing Kathy, our Healthy Living Coach when she realized it was time to make a change.

“I’ve done a million different diet programs and since I’m here and enjoy the club, I thought I’d give it a shot. I had done a Free Intro awhile ago and it was always in the back of my mind. I tried Weight Watcher’s a million times and it just wasn’t the right fit for me. I like the personal connection. I was ready to start.”

Melissa is an avid spinner and tries to make it to class 5 times a week. She never felt like she needed to lose a ton of weight but she had struggled with her body for the greater part of her life. With the fitness component of things down pat, she knew in order to get results she was looking for, that food was the key. “In my first week I lost 3 pounds and in my 7th week, I was down 15 and now, 9 weeks later, it’s a full 20!”.

Melissa was sure to remind us “that it wasn’t always a steady loss; I had my ups and downs but the majority of the time I was losing”.

What worked? Being able to have 5 smaller meals throughout the day keeps my energy levels up and I never feel deprived.

Favorite snack? Peanut Butter on ½ a whole grain English Muffin. Carbs and protein. I burn it off and it keeps me going.

Small progress vs. drastic weight loss: I don’t always focus on the pounds loss. If I don’t lose or happen to go up a pound, I keep in mind how my body has changed. I notice a difference in my muscle tone and that always picks me up.

What motivates you? Whether it’s checking out the HF Facebook page or other motivational sites, it’s always encouraging to have something telling you to keep going.

Melissa’s Mantra… Keep going
